TAKING POVERTY EFFORT THROUGH GIVING GENDER ORIENTATION MICRO CREDIT AND CRITICAL EDUCATION

ABSTRACT

The building of shopping centers in Surabaya seems contradictive to the complexity of poverty and bad nutrient problems that have not been exceeded completely. Besides the result of building shopping centers, poverty and bad nutrient problems in Surabaya make it bad by realizing that in the year of 2010, the Center Government has already agreed with trading zone ASEAN-China (ACFTA).
The Government has already done effort such as the wisdom to take poverty problem. A program to take poverty problem that has been done is taking city poverty program (P2KP). The ideas that exist in this script, P2KP has to be combined with giving micro credit to the housewife who own micro business. Micro credit is a chain that sometime missing for the poor family who try to open micro business to defend their lives. Micro credit is being needed to supply capital in order to get start or continue their micro business to develop their income. However, in reality, micro credit that still has to use gender-neutral system is not effective because women nowadays are still facing structural obstacle in developing their business. This is become the reason to give more attention toward women. The argument that women are suitable to be the main target of micro credit is being supported by prove that women are able to survive toward the poverty.
The effort of giving micro credit that oriented to the endeavor of women will be effective to solve poverty and bad nutrients problem if also being supported by a proper education to the society. In curriculum planning and basic competence standard is not being limited to the development of life skill, but also to the ability students to think critically. The ability to think critically can make them able to see the existence of social contradictions critically, then change the social contradiction in order to be humanly and equitable. Critical education becomes soft skill that completes student’s hard skill.
